Dr. Ashok Jhunjhunwala
Dr. Ashok Jhunjhunwala is Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, India and was department Chair till recently. He received his B.Tech degree from IIT, Kanpur, and his MS and Ph.D degrees from the University of Maine. From 1979 to 1981, he was with Washington State University as Assistant Professor. Since 1981, he has been teaching at IIT, Madras.

Dr. Jhunjhunwala leads the Telecommunications and Computer Networks group (TeNeT) at IIT Madras. This group is closely working with industry in the development of a number of Telecommunications and Computer Network Systems. TeNeT group has incubated a number of technology companies which work in partnership with TeNeT group to develop world class Telecom Access products. The group has also incubated a company which aims to install and operate telephone and Internet in every village in India.

Dr. Ashok Jhunjhunwala has been awarded Padma Shri in the year 2002. He has been awarded Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award in 1998, Dr. Vikram Sarabhai Research Award for the year 1997, Millennium Medal at Indian Science Congress in the year 2000 and H. K. Firodia for "Excellence in Science & Technology" for the year 2002. He is a Fellow of INAE, INSA and NAS and a member of Prime Minister Scientific Advisory Committee.

Dr. Jhunjhunwala is a Director in the Board of SBI. He is also a Board member of several Telecom and IT companies in India, including Polaris, Sasken, Tejas and HTL, NRDC, and IDRBT. He was a former Board member of VSNL & BSNL.

Ray Stata
One of the founders of Analog Devices in 1965, Ray Stata served as chairman and chief executive officer until 1996 and now continues in an active role as chairman of the board. He was responsible for guiding Analog Devices from its genesis to billions of dollars in annual revenues. Prior to the formation of Analog Devices, he was a founder of Solid State Instruments and became vice president-marketing of Kollmorgen Corporation when that company acquired Solid State Instruments.

Ray was an investor and board member of Nexabit Networks, a backbone router company; Libit, an Israeli cable modem company; and EPiCON, a software distribution company, which were all recently sold respectively to Lucent, Texas Instruments and Nortel. He is also an investor and board member of start-ups Axiowave Networks, Aplion Networks, OmniGuide Communications, Telegea, Axsun Technologies and Deploy Solutions.

Ray is active in both the high technology industry and in public service. He was a founder and first President of the Massachusetts High Technology Council (MHTC) and is currently a member of MHTC's Board of Directors. In 1984, Ray was elected a member of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Corporation, and serves on MIT's board. In 1994, he was invited to serve on the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award Board of Overseers and was elected to serve on the board of the Semiconductor Industry Association in 1997. He was also a founder of the Center for Quality of Management in 1989 and currently serves as its chairman. Since 1987 he has served on the executive committee of the Council on Competitiveness.

He holds bachelors and master's degrees in electrical engineering from MIT. Ray's numerous honorary degrees include doctorates in engineering, business administration and human letters.
